Lema Ahmadi’s sculptural practice explores the complexities of gender, identity, and the unconscious forces shaping human behaviour. Her work engages with the darker, more suppressed sides of the ego, translating these themes into symbolic creatures and immersive environments.

Her sculptures examine how emotions, identity, and desire intersect, merging mythological archetypes with contemporary experiences to offer insights into how culture, gender, and spirituality collectively shape our understanding of the self.

Born in 1993 in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, Lema Ahmadi lives in Berlin, holds a BA in Sculpture from the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague (2022), and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague (2021–2022).
