Ahmadi’s sculptural practice is generated through an intensive process rooted in a constant, reciprocal interaction with the medium. Instead of dictating to the material, she engages in a live dialogue where the emerging sculptures actively communicate back, generating vivid visions of the necessary next steps. Her practice operates as a chain reaction where the work systematically unravels. Every sculpture is a step to the next sculpture. Her goal is to maintain an uninterrupted state of flow, materializing these inner visions the exact moment they arrive.

Ahmadi operates under strict rules of execution: the sculptures must develop with a completely organic necessity, completely camouflaging their construction mechanics so that the final form operates as an independent, living entity.
Through this deliberate concealment, the works detach themselves from external reality, allowing the pure form itself to become the primary vehicle of communication.

This development is anchored in a fundamental belief that art operates as an autonomous visual language, a non-verbal syntax that bypasses the spoken word to connect directly with the viewer’s subconscious
.
This autonomous language shifts Ahmadi’s practice into the realm of psychological and spiritual research. Operating on the metaphysical premise that conscious awareness represents a mere four percent of human reality, her work acts as a direct conduit to the remaining ninety-six percent of the unmapped psyche.
By surrendering to this material interaction, she dives into the unknown to pull deep personal and archetypal layers from the subconscious, translating psychological fragmentation into parallel environments.

Within this space, the studio functions as a site vulnerability where the hidden personal and collective shadow is forced to expose itself.

The precise synchronicity of the work’s completion provides empirical evidence of this psychic bypass; when conscious ego-control is removed, the universal archetypes materialize exactly when they need to be seen.

This systematic exposure of the shadow is a deliberate movement toward self-actualization. By unearthing the unconscious, the physical sculpture transcends personal catharsis, operating on the conviction that through these primordial symbols, our individual psyches instantly recognize one another, reuniting the fragmented self with the shared human collective.

Ahmadi (b. 1993, Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan) is based in Berlin. She completed her BA at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (2022) and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2021).
